For a leading insurance company, we are seeking a Data Privacy Counsel to assist in the design and implementation of data privacy policies across the business. The position enjoys a high degree of autonomy and an opportunity to manage an entire workstreams in a senior capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Review of third-party service provider agreements with relation to Swiss data privacy regulations through privacy risk assessments
- Creation of data privacy policies in view of Swiss data privacy regulation requirements
- Ensure all digital portals for the company display data privacy notices and appropriate information
- Advise on data portability, deletion of data as well as third party risk assessments
- Review new data legislations (for example, the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection) and provide legal advice on different areas
- Define mechanisms and rules for the processing of personal data; identify new opportunities and potential gaps
- Provide and co-ordinate legal advice to various stakeholders involving the processing of personal data
- Draft and implement group policies and guidelines
- Conduct initial consultations with customers
- Prepare training content for key internal stakeholders on relevant data protection matters
Qualifications:
- University qualifications in law within civil law
- Prior experience in data protection/privacy function, with a focus on GDPR and the Swiss Data Privacy Act
- Professional experience within employment or labor law would be considered a strong plus
- Fluent in German and English, written and spoken. French language capability would be a strong asset.
- Highly organized, efficient, and hard-working capable of building strong and collaborative relationships
- Excellent drafting skills, communication skills, and attention to detail
